Bank South Pacific (BSP) Vanuatu and V-Lab have entered into a new partnership aimed at improving financial inclusion and strengthening support for entrepreneurs and small businesses across Vanuatu.
The partnership, formally signed this week at Yumiwork Nambatu in Port Vila, brings together BSP Vanuatu and V-Lab – the country’s first business, idea and organisation incubator – to provide entrepreneurs with improved access to banking services, financial education and business development support.
Under the agreement, V-Lab’s incubatees, beneficiaries and alumni will have access to banking and business solutions tailored to help them establish, manage and expand their businesses. The initiative will also focus on improving awareness of BSP’s financial products and services while delivering financial literacy and business education programmes to strengthen entrepreneurs’ financial capability.
V-Lab President Marc-Antoine Morel said the partnership represented a practical step towards creating stronger support systems for local businesses and promoting innovation.
“We are excited to partner with BSP to help create more opportunities for our entrepreneur community,” Mr. Morel said.
“This collaboration is a practical example of how organisations can work together to support innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainable business growth in Vanuatu.”
He said the partnership reflected the importance of collaboration between the private sector and business development organisations in creating an environment where local entrepreneurs can thrive.
BSP Vanuatu Country Head Teresa Jordan said improving access to financial services was essential for the growth of emerging businesses and the country’s broader economic development.
“At BSP, we believe access to financial services plays an important role in supporting entrepreneurship and economic development,” Ms Jordan said.
“We are pleased to collaborate with V-Lab to help equip emerging businesses with the knowledge, tools and banking support they need to grow and succeed.”
The collaboration will provide entrepreneurs with guidance on banking and payment solutions while helping them build stronger financial management skills through targeted education initiatives.
Both organisations said the partnership reflected their shared commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, while contributing to the development of a stronger and more resilient business community in Vanuatu.
The initiative is expected to support more local entrepreneurs as they develop sustainable businesses, create employment opportunities and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
