A good day for Chloe David in her opening day of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest in the 100m race.

The Vanuatu sprinter got off to a strong 12.88sec in the second 100m race heats.

Not only she ran the race but she was fortunate to race against some of the world great 100m female runners with the likes of British sprinter Asher Smith.

The fastest British woman on record, she won a gold medal in the 200 metres, silver in the 100 metres and another silver in the 4×100 m relay at the 2019 World Championships, breaking her own British records with further records which still stand.

Smith finished second in the heat with a time of 11.04 sec a split second from first place finish Brown of USA 11.01sec.

Despite the heavy rain in the first day of the championship, it did not spoiled the show from top athletes in the world.
