Vanuatu beach volleyball player, Sherysyn Toko, did not hold back her emotions after winning her first  medal in the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Toko and skipper Miller Pata defended their bronze medals after defeating New Zealand two sets to one in the bronze medal play off.

New Zealand won the first set 10-21, Vanuatu duo came back strongly in the second set for an equaliser 22-20 and in the decider third set Vanuatu lifted intensity to finish off with a 15-10 win.

“I’m happy and also emotional since this is my first Commonwealth Games medal,” Toko said.
