The women of Banganvanua area council on Maewo sold over 300 items of handicrafts and artifacts in front of the premises of Vanuatu National Council of Women (VNCW) at Saralana Park this week.

The products are a result of a workshop run by VNCW earlier this year in Maewo. Made from local seeds, shells, bamboo, pandanus and calico, items included mats, baskets, necklaces, fans, armbands, earrings and seed ornamental drapes. The income earned from the sales will be distributed among the women producers in Maewo.
