After a well-deserved break, the team at Sista are back and ready to start the new year!
January was spent reflecting on the lessons learnt from last year while preparing and planning for the amazing new projects ahead – keep an eye open for what’s about to come.
We are very excited to announce that we are starting up the Round Table podcast! With a new energetic host – Ms Jarah Mania, we are certain that our upcoming episodes will be worth listening to. Make sure to tune in to our first episode where Jarah explores an uncommon menstrual product here in Vanuatu.
This month was also #CervicalCancerAwareness month! Our Facebook platform was filled with information on the importance of women getting tested for the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and the clinics available that can support this. If you, or anyone you know, wants to get tested, head down to Vila Central Hospital (next to the Dental Clinic) or call +678 7789381/5007886. #YumiDetectemEarly #YumiPreventemEarly

Finance and Admin Strengthening
The Finance & Admin team started the New Year by strengthening our Finance system with the amazing support from our Finance Consultant, Marilou Cajot – Thank you Marilou! The team also received the first tranche from the Frida Fund for the team at Sista and despite the whole team slowly pacing themselves this month, the Finance team managed to submit their first Finance report to CARE – yay!
The Finance team is also pleased to announce that we’ve officially signed a partnership agreement with Balance of Power (BOP) and we are looking forward to working closely with them this year. A massive thanks and tote of appreciation to CARE as they paid the Police Clearance and Insurance forms for the whole team. And the team finally shipped the original receipts from the National Feminist Forum last year, to Fiji – this may not seem like a big deal to some people but for those in the finance world you know it is!
We are also happy to have all our team members start the year with new diaries and more stationary to jot down tasks and reminders – lets go 2023!
