Sisters Chloe and Claudie Merick were on fire at the Suva Grammar School Inter-house last Friday at the ANZ Stadium in Suva, Fiji.

The duo, who are currently preparing to represent Vanuatu athletics in the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games, won their respective sprint events for their red house.

Claudie David who is in Year 10, clocked 26.58 seconds in the Junior Girls 200 metre final while her elder sister, Chloe David, clocked a time of 27.32 seconds in the Inter Girls 200 metres.

The school’s inter-house meet is in preparation for the Zonal meet which selects the best school squad for the much anticipated Fiji Secondary Schools athletics meet known as the Coca-Cola Games.

The Coca-Cola games is the biggest high school athletics event in the Pacific.

The duo hails from Mataso island.
