In #Pinktober this year, we’re celebrating our siSTAR, Sabrina Tabi!
Hailing from the island of Pentecost, Sabrina is a 23-year-old law student at USP Emalus Campus, juggling her studies with her role as the Communications Officer for the We Rise Coalition—a collective of feminist NGOs from across the Pacific. She also channels her love for storytelling as a freelance journalist with the Vanuatu Daily Post.
Known for her simple, comfy, and modest sense of style, Sabrina lives by the quote, “Everything happens for a reason.”
Whether she’s reading mystery novels, layering her favorite Sunflowers Spray perfume, or balancing work, study, and faith—Sabrina reminds us that confidence and grace come from staying true to your values.

Name
Sabrina Tabi.
Age
I am 23 years old.
Where are you from?
I come from the island of Pentecost.

Tell us about your family.
My parents are both from Pentecost. My dad is from the central part of the island, and my mum is from the southern part. I am the eldest in the family, with 3 younger siblings.
What do you like to do in your spare time? Any hobbies?
I am a homebody! During my spare time, I am either having a nap or in bed scrolling on social media. My hobby is reading – I enjoy reading especially mystery and thriller novels. The feeling of suspense I get often keeps me on edge and makes me want to continue reading – which I love!

What do you study? Do you work?
I am currently doing my Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of the South Pacific, Emalus Campus and I am also working. I am the Communications Officer for a coalition of feminist NGOs from the Pacific, known as the We Rise Coalition. I also do freelance journalism for the Vanuatu Daily Post.
What do you aspire to do in the future?
In the future, I would like to be able to achieve all my goals and plans. But ultimately, I hope that wherever God and life take me, I am happy and content.

What is a quote that you live by?
A quote that I live by is simple, “Everything happens for a reason.”
This quote inspires me to remain optimistic whenever I am going through a difficult time. It is a reminder that God has a plan for me, and anything that is or has happened, whether good or bad, are guiding me towards His plan.

How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as comfy, simple, and modest. I wear whatever I feel comfortable and look good in, if it is modest, and suits my mood and the occasion. My usual go-to style is very basic, either long pants and a top or an island dress with rings as accessories – I love wearing rings!
Why do you like fashion?
I like fashion because I think that what you wear and how you wear it influences people’s view of you and gives them a glimpse of your character.

Who influences your style?
My style, like I said, is anything I feel comfortable and look good in as long as it is modest. So, I think my personal values play a huge role in this.
What beauty products do you use (including perfume)?
I am not really into beauty like that, but daily, I use Body lotion, Rexona/Dove deodorant, my signature perfume Sunflowers Spray by Elizabeth Arden, and lip gloss. I would occasionally substitute Vaseline for lip-gloss. I also like layering perfumes so there are other random perfumes, I would wear with my signature spray.
Any fashion tips?
Dress to express, not impress.

What’s the most difficult thing you’ve had to face?
Adulthood to be honest. Trying to focus on work and University, whilst also wanting to have fun, but not neglecting my spiritual life as well and just trying to balance all these together is not easy.
What is one thing you wish you could tell your younger self?
If I could go back to meet her, I would tell her that everything would work out, and she would be okay. I will also ask her not to pressure herself into trying to figure out how her life is going to be like, at such a young age.
What is your biggest fear?
Failure.
