Selina Solman debuted for her Barmy Army women’s cricket side with a eight-wicket victory over Tornadoes in the Fairbreak Invitational tournament in Dubai over the weekend.

The Armies ended Tornadoes unbeaten run and securing themselves their second win in the competition.

Flying to the Northern Hemisphere to join the England based Barmy Army side from Vanuatu was an opportunity of a lifetime for Selina who currently plays alongside the best cricket players in the world, including England Cricket captain Heather Knight.

In a post game press conference Solman expressed her excitement in being part of the winning team.

“This was my first game and it was really good.

“It’s always good to be part of the winning team.

“ It was a good game and i have learnt a-lot of things,” Solman said.

Team captain Heather Knight revealed their bowlers was their trump card.

“The way we bowled in the first half made a difference and we remain positive all the way,” Knight said.

Tornadoes captain Stafanie Taylor said: “The team is a bit disappointed with our first loss, we battled really well but luck was not on our side,” she said.
