A very exciting Mama’s hockey festival took place on Monday at Wan Smol Bag (WSB) sports ground. The event involved Mama’s from few villages of Efate.
More then 30 mama’s participated in this half-day Mama Hockey Festival.
Hookin4 Mama’s Hockey Program is the name of the programme as confirmed by Vanuatu Hockey Federation (VHF) Development Officer Nasse Maltungtung.
“The “Hookin4 Mama’s Hockey Program’ is currently registered under a project which is Hookin4 Health Vanuatu, that is funded by the Australian Government through Team Up Program.
“There are currently three villages on Efate that participated in that program this week, they are Mama’s from Samma Village, Malaribue Mama’s from Mele Village and Mama’s Eratap,” Maltungtung said.
VHF Development Officer says, there is round robin hockey matches which involves all the Mama’s who played for 20 minutes’ full time, and another 20 minutes awareness on family health which is facilitated by Vanuatu Family Health and Nutrition awareness presented by a WSB staffs for flinders university in Australia.
Mama’s Hockey Festival was a half day program inaugurated at 9am and concluded at 1:30pm.
