The Vanuatu U16 football girls drew 0-0 all with Avalon FC in another nail biting second friendly match last Saturday at Freshwater Stadium.

It was another great game of exposure and gaining more game time and strength for the young girls as they prepare for the OFC U16 championship tournament in Tahiti in September.

Despite being score less at full time head coach Nesta Moli believes the two friendly matches was an eye opener for the girls as they are able to rectify their weaknesses and strengths, see their level of fitness and body conditioning before departing the country.

VFF stated; “ We’d like to acknowledge the Avalon U16 Women Team for their continuous partnership with the Vanuatu Football Federation in the promotion of the women’s game since 2012.

“The Tour to Vanuatu continues to provide a platform for cultural exchange and skill in development.”

From now the U16 girls will continue their normal training and will be playing warm up matches against the senior teams.

Daily Post also understands the U16 team could be flying to Australia for friendly matches before departing for Tahiti. The team is scheduled to leave end of next month.
