Humanitarian and development workers are seen as heroes, providing support and aid in times of need. Yet, the humanitarian and development sector overall fails to support its female staff. We expect the work to come with heavy workloads and challenging working environments, but the most significant struggle women report is from working in toxic environments and systems that are managed by the very organizations that employ us.

This site gives us a place to come together, build community amongst us and discover resources towards building a better humanitarian and development sector to advocate for improvement.
