The Vanuatu Beach Volleyball Federation has kicked off its Pacific Mini Games campaign in Palau with an impressive victory for the women’s team on Day 1.

Women’s beach volleyball duo, Sherysyn Toko and Majabelle Lawac, delivered a clean and commanding 2–0 win over New Caledonia’s Smaina Mampasse and Goimel Uedre yesterday. Their consistent rhythm, well-coordinated sets, and a strong finish secured the opening win for Vanuatu on the sand courts.

However, it was a different story for the men’s team. Stivano Banga and Fletcher Abel put up a brave fight but fell short against the Cook Islands’ Brendon Heath and Raitiavatea Herman, missing out on a win in their opening match.

The 12th edition of the Pacific Mini Games continues in Palau with Vanuatu’s beach volleyball squads aiming to build on this promising start and push for medals in the days ahead.
