Located just 15 minutes away from Lenakal airport is Abera Beach Bungalows. As you enter the property, you are greeted with a nabanga (banyan) tree that is framed by a stunning tropical garden with freshly mowed grass.
Idyllic coconut trees sway on the beach shore that lead out to several rock pools that vary in depth. The first pool is waist deep and brimming with coral fish and as you go further along into the open water, you will discover the pools become deeper and the fish become more colorful! Enjoy a late afternoon swim with the setting sun and water all to yourself – there is often not a single person in sight and it’s the perfect opportunity to embrace peace and serenity, a seemingly rare thing in the modern world.
White sand pathways lead to 5 separate bungalows that are built with local wood and finished with a natungura roof. The double bungalow at the beachfront offers 3 single beds and 1 double bed and the other room offers 2 single beds and 1 double bed. Each room has a bathroom and is suitable for larger groups.
Three bungalows are set amongst tropical gardens and feature 1 double bed and 1 single bed with a bathroom. There are no kitchen facilities in the bungalows and no TV and no internet – Abera Beach Bungalows is suitable for those who are looking for clean and comfortable accommodation with minimal 21st century luxuries.
A separate dining facility is at the heart of Abera Beach Bungalows and it’s used not only used for dining, but also to facilitate workshops and launching of projects. Abera’s convenient location makes it an excellent choice for conferences, and the local government and NGOs often use it to perform meetings. Venue hire for the full day is 5000vt and for the half day, it’s 3000vt.
Catering is available at Abera Beach Bungalows and prices are dependent on numbers. Dining sits 24 people but it can accommodate up to 100 people. A casual food menu is also available to guests and depends on availability. Fish starts from 700vt, Beef starts from 650vt, Chicken starts from 500vt and Omelet from 450vt and Coffee is 300vt.
