In August, we are shining light on Marcelline Moli – a young woman whose strength, determination, and confidence inspire us all.

“Don’t look at my disability, but at my ability.”
This is the quote that 23-year-old Marcelline lives by – and it captures her spirit perfectly.

Originally from Ambae Island, Marcelline now lives in Port Vila with her aunt while she continues her studies at Lycée Louis Antoine De Bougainville. She boards school during the term and is fully focused on her dream: to become a lawyer and defend the rights of people with disabilities.

Marcelline does not have her right hand – but that has never stopped her. Instead, it has shaped her strength, her purpose, and her voice. She’s also a proud para-athlete, passionate about athletics and determined to push herself both on and off the track. Through sport, she’s learned discipline, courage, and how to turn challenge into power.

In her spare time, Marcelline loves watching movies, hanging out with friends, and sleeping in whenever she gets the chance. More recently, she’s discovered a love for fashion — not in the flashy, fast-paced sense, but in how it allows her to feel confident, creative, and real.

“I like fashion that feels natural and true. You wear what makes you feel good, and what fits your life,” she says. “Now I see it’s a way to express who I am.”

Marcelline’s story reminds us that true strength is found in resilience — in showing up, speaking out, and embracing who you are without apology but always with a smile.

I don’t have any work experience yet because I’m still focused on my studies. I’m currently a Year 13 student at Lycée LAB.

What do you aspire to do in the future?

In the future, I aspire to become a lawyer. I want to defend the rights of people with disabilities and make sure their voices are heard.

What is a quote that you live by?

One of my favorite quotes is: “Don’t look at my disability, but at my ability.”

How would you describe your style? Why do you like fashion?

I used to not think much about fashion, but now I see it as a way to express who I am. Fashion helps me feel confident and allows me to have fun with my style. I believe fashion should feel natural and true to your life.

Who influences your style?

The style I like the most is when you try something new and just be yourself. I like fashion that feels natural and true. You wear what makes you feel good, and what fits your life. Fashion is about expressing who you are, not copying others. When you feel comfortable and confident in what you wear, that’s when your true style shines.
