For our Independence month this year, we’re celebrating Guilaine Nauni – a woman of confidence, compassion and creativity.

With roots grounded in faith and family, Guilaine is a proud Ni-Vanuatu mother, artist, and advocate. She recently stepped away from her role at CARE International in Vanuatu after seven years of service, choosing to pour her heart into her own ventures – from Myrrha’s Fabric Painting to consulting, and uplifting single mothers through grassroots support.

Her style? Natural, radiant, and deeply rooted in self-worth.

Whether she’s painting fabrics, singing, or spending time with her daughter, she carries herself with grace, joy, and a quiet strength that inspires everyone around her.

Guided by the words, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” Guilaine lives her life with purpose – choosing self-care, embracing her uniqueness, and empowering others to see the beauty they already carry.

Name

Guilaine Nauni

Age

I am 32 years old.

Where are you from?

Futuna/Ambae

Tell us about your family.

My father is a Pastor, and my mother is a housewife, and I have two siblings.

I have a beautiful 5-year-old daughter and I’m currently a single parent with a very supportive family.

What do you like to do in your spare time?  Any hobbies?

My hobbies include painting fabrics, painting nails, dancing, and singing.

What do you study? Do you work?

I attended a short course for Project Management Development Professionals a while back. I worked with an amazing, dedicated team at Care International in Vanuatu for 7 years, but I have recently left to focus on my private consultant work and business, ‘Myrrha’s Fabric Painting’.

What do you aspire to do in the future?

In the future, I want to help vulnerable groups in rural and remote communities – I’ve already started working with single mothers.

What is a quote that you live by?

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

How would you describe your style? Why do you like fashion?

I would describe my style as natural beauty, a reflection of who I am, “fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image.”

I like fashion because it helps me reflect on myself that I am unique and special; it boosts my self-esteem and self-confidence.

Who influences your style?

My style is influenced by Priscilla Shirer — a godly woman and speaker whose strength and grace inspire me.

What beauty products do you use (including perfume)?

I use perfume – I’ve forgotten the name of it but I love it and use it all the time – I use olive oil for my hair and will now and again use a homemade tumeric body scrub.

 Any fashion tips?

Beauty starts within you. When you have high self Esteem it will help you automatically influence how you dress outside.

What are three words you would use to describe yourself?

Confident, Happy and Empowered.

What is one thing you wish you could tell your younger self?

One thing I wish I could tell my younger self is to just be yourself — but always remember that real beauty is found in Christ alone. Inward beauty lasts, and it will influence your outward appearance.

Remember you are not to be compared — you are unique and special,️ so just be yourself!
