FREE WORKSHOP FOR AMBAE WOMEN
Two Llamas Environmental and Social Projects will be in Santo on the first week of November 2017. If Ambae ladies would like to sit with Chantal Clarke, she will be happy to show you how to make sleeping mats from plastic bags.
All you need to do is collect as many plastic shopping bags as possible and wash/dry them. Chantal will bring the crochet hooks and show you how to make them.
These mats are soft to sleep on and also good as house mats. They will also be able to sell them to other people and earn money.
If Santo residents are interested in providing shopping bags for this project, Chantal will be staying at Tides Reach (next to Maui Maui Villas from 31 Oct).
Projects are always developed in consultation with community leaders and are undertaken with the approval of relevant government agencies. Implementation involves local villagers and small groups of volunteers; enabling skill sharing and capacity building.
Sustainable economic development, conservation through education, and improving health through nutrition are all key areas of focus. All work is done free of charge and we welcome feedback and assistance.
