Well-known singer Sharon Nicholls, better known as Shazza, launched her first Extended Play (EP) recording, ‘Bottom Line,’ on Friday at the Vanuatu Kaljoral Senta (VKS) premises in Port Vila.

The new EP is titled “Bottom Line”.

Shazza told Vanuatu Daily Post that her released EP has four original tracks.

Shazza, who hails from Paama, said she wants to use her music as a way to unite everyone and lift up their spirits. She said if anyone has ambitions in life, they must believe in themselves and strive for those goals as they already have support systems in place.

The former Malapoa College student added if anyone needs assistance they should ask for it. She looked back on her musical journey and says the support she received was what pushed her to succeed, and if she can succeed anyone else can.

Shazza said a lot of the messages in her songs are personal, not only to her but she wants listeners to see those messages in song as encouragement in life and to just keep going in whatever they do.

Shazza, who recently performed at the SHEFA Day celebrations at Korman Stadium alongside the Resilient band and other singers such as Prince Phillip and Ms Rudy, said her musical influence does not come from any particular musician as she explains she has learnt a lot from too many as she says she has always been open with her music and is always happy to learn or accept any advice from other musicians.

Shazza acknowledged all who have performed with her both on and off stage and says they have all been great role models to her.

The young singer is grateful to all who supported her in her music and the first EP launch. She thanked Flick Zone, Kele Productions for the recording, Vodafone, those who prepared the food and kava and all her fans who purchased the EP.

The EP is still on sale for VT1,000 and anyone interested in purchasing can leave a message with their email address on the Shazza Facebook page.

Before this EP launch Shazza released a single called ‘Butterfly’ and she always has a close affinity to butterflies. She explained that butterflies have a strong connection within her family as her mother would always say, butterflies are loved ones who have departed and fly next to her as they are always watching over her and her family.

Shazza has also featured in songs by Mantis, Kymvn-J3h, Shakura String Band, Dusti, Robin Andrew and Boyderaz.

Apart from ‘Butterfly’, other well known singles she released last year were, ‘Tekem yu go luk Bali’ and ‘Mr. Man’.
