“Being a young mother means I met you a little early, but it means I get to love you a little longer.” – unknown
As a young mother of 2 year old Leliani Langdale, Umi Nompavos is dedicated to being the best person she can be for her daughter despite all the challenges that life throws at her. A lover of music, an emerging activist, a social butterfly with a big mouth and a big heart to match, Umi and Leilani show off their beautiful relationship in this photo shoot at Vanuatu’s family place Messy Haos.

Tell us about your family?

How would you describe your style? Why do you like fashion?
My style is usually just jean shorts and a crop top or a T-shirt. But when I feel like getting a little ‘extra’ I like to wear dresses or high-waist skirts or jeans with off-shoulder tops. I like fashion because to me there are no rules! I can pretty much wear whatever (even if people say “they don’t go” haha)
Who influences your style?
My style is usually influenced by the women around me or whatever that is trending on social media (But often I can’t find new style clothing that is affordable for me in Vila)

I don’t usually have a preference for beauty products, I just use whatever is available and make it work.

What is something you love about yourself?
I love my ability to be able to pick myself up after being down no matter how bad the situation I am in is.
