From April to June 2025, Sista hosted the Accelerator Hub, a six-week program proudly supported by the We Rise Coalition. Bringing together 13 participants from 7 organisations, the workshops aimed to strengthen the foundations of emerging organisations in Vanuatu, build confidence, and nurture collective movement building.

Led by Sista’s Executive Director and Project Coordinator, the program was designed to provide both group learning and tailored support. Through workshops and one-on-one sessions, Sista facilitated training on vision and mission development, governance structures, project management, financial systems, and digital tools. The hub also created space for organisations to share their experiences and learn from one another in a supportive environment.

The Accelerator Hub unfolded over five workshops and a series of one-on-one support sessions. In the first session on 28 April 2025, participants introduced their organisations, clarified their visions and missions, and explored how these guiding statements strengthen identity and direction. The second session on 12 May 2025 focused on governance, covering constitutions, board structures, key stakeholders, and networking strategies essential for NGO work in Vanuatu. On 19 May 2025, the third session dived into the essentials of project management, including project design, costed workplans, and monitoring and reporting. The fourth session, held on 30 May 2025, gave participants the chance to put project management theory into practice through hands-on exercises, finalising concept notes and budgets for future initiatives. The final group session on 16 June turned to financial integrity, guiding participants through bank accounts, procurement, acquittals, and the development of costed workplans. After the workshops, tailored one-on-one sessions provided deeper support, helping organisations strengthen specific areas such as budgeting, concept note writing, digital tools (Excel, Canva, Google Drive, PowerPoint), and networking strategies.

The Accelerator Hub was more than a series of workshops — it was a journey of growth, connection, and solidarity. Participating organisations, including Port Vila City Council of Women, Widow’s Association, SILAE Vanua, Further Arts Vanuatu, Southeast Ambrym Association, Nambawan Family Association, and Food, Health and Rights, strengthened their capacities while deepening their role in the Vanuatu women’s movement. Together, participants built confidence in designing and implementing projects, managing financial systems, and communicating their vision and mission with clarity. The one-on-one sessions ensured organisations received the specific, practical support they needed to thrive beyond the program.

Sista extends heartfelt thanks to all the participating organisations for their passion and commitment, and to the We Rise Coalition for making this initiative possible. Together, we are not just strengthening organisations — we are strengthening movements.
