The Disability Promotion & Advocacy Association (DPA) in Vanuatu has conveyed its deep appreciation to the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) and the Governments of member states for the development of the Pacific Disability Rights Framework, released earlier this month.

The Framework aims to support Pacific governments to promote, protect and fulfil the rights of persons with disabilities as outlined in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

The DPA thanked the PIFS for the wider consultation with the Pacific Disability Forum and its member organizations. DPA Vanuatu members were consulted in August last year in Port Vila.

“The release of the Framework will make our advocacy more successful through supporting the Vanuatu Government to recognize and implement its obligations under international Conventions,” said Nelly Caleb, DPA National Coordinator.  READ MORE
