P&O Cruises has extended a helping hand to the Sista, a charitable organisation in Vanuatu by donating a collection of chairs and tables.

According to Lynne Scrivens, Director Integrated Communications, Public Relations and Media for the Carnival Australia, the donation, chairs and tables from P&O is part of their commitment to give back to the destinations P&O visits.

“Vanuatu is one of the most popular cruise destination for Australians and Australians love coming here on cruise holidays so as well as contributing to local business and economy,” she said.

The furniture donation is not only a testament to P&O Cruises’ commitment to the destinations they visit but also a way to support local initiatives that make a difference in the communities they touch.

“We also love ensuring that we support the right community project and sister is doing wonderful work in the community and we really like to support community group such as Sista,” Scrivens said.

“Organisations like Sista which a doing such great things in the community are always top of our list when it comes to finding new homes these kind of furniture.”

Sista is a charitable organisation in Vanuatu that believes in treating men and women equally. They use art, media, and talking to help women and girls become stronger, and they also work to make people understand and care about the problems women and girls go through.

Elsie Molou, Communication and Advocacy Coordinator of Sista, acknowledged the P&O for their generous donation and that they love the chairs and tables and she knows that they going to get so much out of them.

“We love the chairs and tables, and we know that they are going to benefit our organisation immensely. It’s not just about the furniture; it’s about the support and encouragement we receive,” she said.
