Market vendors have been given the opportunity to know more about the new By-laws of the Port Vila City Council (PVCC) and the changes that they can expect to see.
This was made possible through a series of awareness activities that the Council, through the Market House Management, conducted in the last two weeks and will conclude at the end of this week.
The awareness targeted vendors from around Efate, including the offshore islands.
The main concerns that were highlighted during the awareness surround permit and new market fees that are expected to be implemented this year.
This is also an opportunity for vendors to contribute to the new by-law which is currently in its consultation stage. It has been highlighted that this is the first time for the main market to have its own by-law to guide the management of the market house.
The vendors acknowledged the Council for taking the step to listen to their concerns and consult them on the changes.
