On Wednesday 28 February 2024, Sista’s Project Coordinator and Officer took a tour round Port Vila to visit 13 different schools!
The team distributed a handful of books we helped create with our partners, to schools to help showcase the work that is being carried out to inform, empower and advocate for our young women and girls and the issues they face.

At Sista we understand the importance for young people to have access to information and to explore sensitive issues with access to appropriate referral systems. And for that reason, we distributed the resources to over 15 schools!

This was an opportunity to not only enable students to access resources in order to make informed and empowering choices, but to also strengthen our networks with schools so we can work more closely with them in the future.

The resources prepared by the team for each institute were (most of these books can be found online here: www.sistalibrary.com.vu):

  • 1 copy of Sikmun Storian Booklet – booklet supported by Ambassde De France
  • 2 copies of Nation Builders: Celebrating Women in the Private Sector – booklet supported by Balance of Power
  • 2 copies of Go! Cyber booklet – booklet supported by CARE
  • 1 poster indicating the 3 websites (Sista website, Stanap Strong website & Sista library) and other social media platforms of Sista.
  • 3 Sista Stanap Strong Anthology bookmarks
  • 1 copy of a guide to be an ally (SOGIE) – booklet supported by VPride (This is only given to those who are okay with having it in their library)
  • 1 copy of Rod Blong Jenis/Journey to Change – booklet supported by Spotlight Initiative
We are thrilled that the schools were eager to hold these books in their library’s to hep inform the upcoming generation.
Thank you Ambassde De France for making this mini tour possible!
