Rose Moise, a year twelve student tells of a warming story in how she was inspired by one of the upcoming and rising Sports star Loti Joe in Beach Volleyball. Here Rose describes how wonderful an experience from an early start she received, and in turn has curved a way forward.
Rose was encouraged and inspired by student colleague and Beach Volleyball’s rising steps of Loti Joe because of Loti’s enthusiasm as a player, as a friend and a sportive character who drove Rose’s motivation and spirits high to challenge her involvement in Sport. At the moment Rose is one out 6 currently training in the U18 category, and coached by Vanuatu’s Beach Volleyball’s famous Miller and Henriette. Loti Joe plays both defense and blocker position.
She tells Daily Sports that, “I was inspired with the talents and Loti’sstories and that encouraged me to give the sport a go! I witnessed the reality of Loti’s inspired storieswhen I began to involvemyself in Beach Volleyball from early this year, being faithful in my trainings and being devoted to the discipline, meeting new friends and enjoying the fun. I fell in love with the Sport”, came a smiling Rose.
Excitedly young Rose’s first debut was representing Vanuatu in the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas, July this year. Out of 10 countries Vanuatu’s Rose Moise and Luduine Tebeim partnered to beat Tobacco & Trinidad, and Jamaica to place Vanuatu in 6thposition. Vanuatu U18 girls’ team has been given a wild card into the 2018 Youth Olympic Games so the players are training for this event now
“The 32 hours of flight from Vila through connected flights to Bahamas, our participation, making and meeting new friends and the enjoyment was an awesome challenge and a first-hand experience abroad.
“Sports as in Beach Volleyball helps us to remain fit and maintain our health status. Nutrition was another issueattached with Sports that we learnt on how to control and consume good and healthy food, and which I must say is very essential in life today.
“Now I aim to train harder and prepare myself for upcoming events which will happen next year.I would like to invite more girls to come into the sport. Right now Vanuatu Beach Volleyball is the only Sport that travels around the world to compete in Beach Volleyball tournaments from time to time and you can be one of them to represent Vanuatu. I have also learnt to focus and organize my personal timings against when to concentrate with my academic studies at Lycee LAB, and also with my sport trainings”, concluded Ms Moise.
Rose comes from a background of three in the family and is the only female in her family. Her dad hails from Tanna while her mum from Ambrym both living on Tanna. At present she lives with a guardian in Vila.
