Three new Magistrates – Brigitte Lang, Nixon Lipa Pantutun and Ken Massing, were sworn in yesterday at the Supreme Court in Port Vila with plans to be transferred to serve at Santo and Lakatoro courthouses.

Lang, 39-years-old from Malekula, has completed her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at the University of the South Pacific (USP) Emalus Campus in 2020 to 2024 under the sponsorship of the New Zealand Government.

She has worked at the Vanuatu Cultural Center for 10 years, participated in the Pacific Mini Games VAN2017 and worked at the Vanuatu Australian Police and Justice Program.

Pantutun, 31-years-old from Mota, has served in the Customary Land Unit in from 2017 to 2024 before applying into the Magistrate program.

39-year-old Massing was a former state prosecutor who served the Office of Prosecutor for more than 12 years.

Chief Justice Vincent Lunabek revealed during their swearing in that the new Magistrates will be transferred to serve in other courthouses.

Brigitte and Ken will serve at Santo Courthouse while Nixon will be transferred to Lakatoro Courthouse on Malekula.
