Vanuatu beach volleyball standouts Majabelle Lawac and Sherysyn Toko will depart for Australia in two weeks to compete in their second international tour of 2026.

The duo will take part in the FIVB Beach Pro Tour Futures event in the Brisbane/Gold Coast region, scheduled for March 11–15 at Coolangatta Beach.

Currently ranked third in the competition standings, Lawac and Toko are eager to build on their promising start to the season as they prepare to launch their second tour of the year.

Head coach Miller Pata, who will be assisted by Coach Manu, said the pair are looking forward to the upcoming challenge.

“The girls are excited for this tour. Our aim is to improve on the scoreboard and move up the rankings,” Pata said.

Earlier this year, the team travelled to Mount Maunganui in New Zealand for their first international outing.

The Vanuatu pair reached the quarterfinal stage before bowing out after a strong campaign.

The Vanuatu contingent saw mixed results during the tournament, with one pairing eliminated in the Round of 16 by a New Zealand side, while the top-ranked pair of Lin and Bella advanced to the quarterfinals.

There, they faced regular rivals Fleming and Johnson of Australia. After being outplayed in the first set, the Vanuatu duo mounted a determined comeback in the second but narrowly lost 21–19.

Heading into the Gold Coast tournament, Lawac and Toko are set to face regular competitors along with some of the world’s top-ranked teams, including strong sides from Australia and Romania.

Despite the tough field, the team remains determined to deliver a solid performance to maintain — or even improve — their current standing.

The Vanuatu Beach Volleyball Federation acknowledged its major sponsor Titan FX and other supporting partners for backing the athletes, as they continue to represent Vanuatu on the international stage.
