The Malampa Provincial Health is committed to help families and couples improve the health of women and their babies.
Importantly, Malampa Health’s priority is to enure this commitment is successfully implemented by improving access and choice to “Long Acting Methods” of Family Planning.
There are two Long Acting Reversible methods of family planning that Vanuatu adopted and is also used by women around the world for preventing unwanted pregnancy, and the risk of induced abortion in young women.
These methods include the contraceptive implant and the intra-uterine contraceptive device.
Speaking at the opening of the Contraceptive implant Training Works for Nurses, Mrs. Sophie Morris said Malampa has depended on the intra-uterine contraceptive device, commonly known as “loop” as a lone reversible method until 2014 when the contraceptive implant was introduced. READ MORE
