Celebrating Marie, a tennis role model, a woman whose attitude exhibites sportsmanship and a woman of true compassion. #VAN2017BronzeMedalWinner
I am in my late twenties.
Where are you from?
I am from Pentecost. My mum is from the West Coast and my dad is from the East Coast.
What do you aspire to do in the future?
I am currently doing what I have always been passionate about and that is to be a tennis role model to the pikininis and the youth of Vanuatu. I am currently a Development Officer for the Vanuatu Tennis Federation and I see great potential in terms of sports with the youth of this nation. On the other hand, I have always been determined to be a local business entrepreneur.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
During my spare time I like to listen to music especially reggaetón, RnB, some Vanuatu music (just some haha) and most importantly I love spending quality time with my other half. *big smile*
What do you study?
At the moment I’m not taking any courses but I did study Business Management during my four years of a tennis scholarship at the U.S.A. My first two years I was based in Texas and the last two years were spent at Oklahoma, which is just an hour’s drive from Texas. It was an overall interesting experience to be honest! I would indeed love to further my education and fulfill my aspirations.
How would you describe your style?
I don’t really have a particular style but I like to put on vibrant colors that reflect my happy mood.
Where do you buy your clothes from?
I usually buy my clothes from second hand shops, mainly Stret Price. My favorite boutique is American Fashion. Also just a tip guys – there are some pretty good stuff too at the Chinese stores around town which are trendy and affordable.
Who influences your style?
Uhmm…good question! Because I have been travelling so much, I normally get fashion ideas from the diverse races of people that I meet and greet during my different voyages.
What beauty products do you use?
Honestly, on a daily basis I don’t use that many beauty products. If I do use something, it would be coconut oil but because I am quite active and mostly on a healthy diet regime, my body has its own way of producing its natural ointment. Haha!
Any fashion advice?
Just wear something that makes you happy and that you feel comfortable with. Most importantly wear something that brings out the BEST IN YOU!
