Market vendors at Lenakel Market on Tanna have welcomed the words of the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, Fisheries and Biosecurity, Matai Seremaiah on his first official visit to Tanna recently when he suggested installing a cool room to keep fresh produce fresh for transfer to a similar cool room on a ship for marketing purposes in Port Vila

A spokesperson for the women said such an initiative would answer a historical pain as vendors have been watching helplessly while their produce rot at maturity due to a lack of marketing facilities.
The Minister repeated what he had promised farmers in the Middle Bush a day earlier, that he would be working through his officers in Tafea Province to get the farmers to clear their land next year in preparation for a farming drive, to assist the farmers to plough their land to plant carrots, onions and potatoes for sale in Port Vila.
