A man from Paama residing on Santo, Sahe Molu, wanted for the alleged murder of his partner, is still on the run since the incident early last week.

In a statement issued yesterday, the Vanuatu Police Force (VPF) urged members of the public on Santo to help find the suspect.

Police on Santo were not able to find the suspect since he went on the run after the incident.

Anyone harbouring the suspect or protecting him from being taken into police custody is committing an offence under the Penal Code Act (CAP 135), the Police warned.

A person caught harbouring a suspect or wanted fugitive can face a three-year jail sentence or a fine not exceeding VT150,000, according to VPF.

The Police needs everyone to work together in addressing murder in communities, stressed VPF, as the search for the murder suspect continues.
