should-domestic-issues-be resolved-by-the-police-or-community-chiefs-?

The Interim Chairman of the Council of Ohlen Freshwind, Chief Peter Yamak believes that Chiefs should be the first responders when there is a domestic dispute and not the police, arguing that they existed before the police, so all domestic disputes should be mediated by them first, not the cops.

“Before Police interference, the Chiefs were there as the peacemakers in keeping communities safe and in balance,” he said.
The Chief believes that the authorities should focus on other serious crimes and leave the domestic troubles to the chiefs.
