The Vanuatu Association of Non-Government Organisations (VANGO) has launched an exhibition to bring together NGOs and Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) to showcase their work to the public.

The NGO Day, held yesterday (3 October) at Warwick Le Lagon, featured over 15 booths from NGOs and CBOs, providing awareness and information about their work and products.

The theme for this year is ‘Yumi leftemap Komuniti, yumi bildim Nesen.’

The event also included the launch of the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) Mapping, with formal presentations from various guest speakers to track what different NGOs and CBOs are doing in Vanuatu.

This launch will increase visibility for the work of CSOs and support the completion of the NGO Act, which is currently being drafted. It will also ensure that VANGO remains at the forefront of advocating for localisation and facilitating funding for our members.

Overall, this initiative involves mapping 128 members to ensure they are part of the consultative process for policy development so that each organisation’s voice can be heard.

Founded in 1991, VANGO is the national umbrella organisation for all NGOs and CBOs operating in Vanuatu.
