Vanuatu Women’s team will look to defend their gold medal that they won in Rartonga in 2015 (Cook Islands). This year’s Oceania Beach Championships will be held in Suva Fiji.
Loti Joe will take a huge step to play in Miller Pata’s spot while Vanuatu’s Star player Pata is still in recovery. Pata will be ready next year.
So Joe has to step up, she is one of junior players who has improved a lot after the past years.
Joe has played in FIVB events and regional events, such as the AVC continental Cup, Oceania and the South Pacific Games.
She has paired up before with Vanuatu’s Best defense player Linline Mansale.
The two athletes will be traveling alone to Fiji and will be taking part in three events.
The Event is, Fiji Beach Volleyball Open, held as part of the Sub Zone. in it there will be countries from Western Zone, Central Zone, and Eastern Zone from the Asian Voleyball Confederation where Oceania is part of .
Lastly the Oceania Championship which the girls have to defend our Gold.
Mansale is the Captain and she will also coach herself and Joe. “I am confident to be captain and also coach the team,” Mansale confidently said.
Vanuatu’s Women’s assistant coach Joyce Joshua will be taking charge of the team while they are in Fiji.
“I trust Linline to play and also to coach us.
“To take Miller Pata’s spot Is a big challenge because she is one of my beach volleyball idol.
“But I have confidence in myself and I believe I will do my every best to defend Vanuatu’s Gold in the Oceania Championships,” Loti Joe said.
When Daily Sports asked both the girls about successfully defending their gold in Oceania Champs they both nodded with confident smiles. The girls will leave on the 16th of this month and be back at the end of the month.
Events in Fiji will be held in Smugglers Cove, Nadi Fiji from 18th to 26th November.
