impulse-remains-unbeaten

The defending champions, Impulse, remains unbeaten in the Port Vila Netball Association (PVNA) League.

They took on Buluana in their previous game.

From the kick off, a spirited Buluana side made attempt to get ahead and take the lead, landing some shots in their opponents’ net. Despite missing several opportunities, they found themselves training their opponents 13-7 at the end of the first quarter.

Impulse capitalized on their opponents’ errors and missed scoring chances, extending their lead to 25-13.

In the last two quarters, Impulse strengthened their defense and contained the girls in maroon from advancing to end the game in their favour by 39-23.

Despite the loss, Buluana’s Vice Captain Emelynda Aru was pleased with her team’s work and ability to score over 20 goals against the league’s top team. She sees this as a strong foundation to build on through more team training for their next match.

Buluana play their next game against Tavola.

In other games, Sia Raga dominated Yeba Swifts, winning 51-15, while Ambassadors showcased their strength with a 37-7 victory over Blue Ravens.

New comers Aurora celebrated their maiden victory as they won by forfeit against Tavola, while the game between Malapoa College Empresses and Manarokesa was postponed to a later date.

Empresses player Lois Tari said that due to ongoing exams for the students, their upcoming games against Buluana and Sia Raga will be postponed.

In this Saturday’s games at Korman Stadium, action begins at 11am between Aurora and Ambassadors, followed by Blue Ravens and Tavola, Sia Raga against Manarokesa and Impulse will take on Yeba Swifts.

Blue Ravens and Tavola are the teams on duty while Jane Bani is this weekend’s PVNA executive on duty.

Players, coaches and umpires are reminded to be on time.
