Threads Across the Pacific
Caroline Mason has been recognised by the Matamata Kiwanis Club for her dedication to the project she founded last year, ‘Threads Across the Pacific’ .

This initiative began in 2015 when Ms. Mason asked quilting groups in New Zealand to donate small and large quilts for Cyclone Pam survivors who had no shelter. Since then she has been collecting sewing materials to send to Vanuatu through Kiwanis containers as well as organising regular sewing workshops in Port Vila.

Last month Ms Mason celebrated sending the 100th sewing machine to Vanuatu. The next container is departing from New Zealand just before Christmas.
