The countdown to Port Vila’s First skits competition has begun.
Organised by the Port Vila Skits Event Committee (PVSEC), the Port Vila Skits competition is scheduled for the 23rd-25th August at the Korman Complex.
The media officer for the event, Natasha Napat said this is the first time for the event to be organized in Port Vila, while it has been already organized twice in Luganville, Santo in the past.
”The main reason behind the organization of this event is to bring the youth together and showcase their talents through skits,” Ms Napat said.
Ms Napat said the registration fee is Vt2,000, and registration closes at 3pm on Sunday July 21.
There are six cash prizes to be won.
”The cash prizes range from Vt100,000, Vt70,000, Vt50,000, Vt30,000, Vt15,000 to Vt7,000,” Ms. Napat told Daily Post.
”There are also three special awards for the best male and female dancers — Vt5,000 each, Vt10,000 for the best uniform and another Vt10,000 for best choreography.”
All youth groups either in the church or social youth groups are encouraged to participate but it is a requirement for all the skits to be accompanied with a gospel song. Each group will get to present three different skits during the event, and one skits must be accompanied with a gospel song from a local artist and two from their choice.
