Vanuatu’s Judo team competing at the Pacific Mini Games have won two gold medals from their impressive performance.

The team made their mark on Day 7 of the games when Priscilla Monthuel and Kaina Delrieu clinched two golds, while fellow teammate Anna Bumseng added to the nation’s tally with a well-earned silver.

The wins push Vanuatu’s overall medal tally to 13, a promising boost for the island nation’s athletes as the games continue.

Not only did Vanuatu celebrate the double gold yesterday, but the national judo squad continued to demonstrate their strength by adding a bronze to the country’s growing medal tally.

In the men’s category, Alan Monthuel showcased skill and determination, overcoming tough competition to secure another podium finish.

Their performance highlights the depth of talent within the judo squad and their commitment to bringing home medals for the nation.

These results further boost Vanuatu’s standing at the regional games and provide inspiration for the remaining days of competition.

The judo team’s success has been warmly received by supporters back home, who continue to cheer on the entire squad as they push for more victories

While no official comments were provided by the Palau contingent or the Vanuatu Judo Federation, there was no shortage of support from friends and family in the stands.

Young gold medalist Priscilla Monthuel had her grandmother cheering her on — the proud matriarch flew in all the way from Japan to witness her granddaughter’s historic achievement.

The Pacific Mini Games continue this week with Tahiti still holding the lead on the overall medal table.
