Silae Vanua Market Vendor Association

‘Think outside the box’ was one message strongly promoted to members of the Silae Vanua Market Vendor Association gathered at the launch of a market vendor agriculture training programme in Port Vila, Vanuatu on September 6th 2016.

As part of the UN Women Markets for Change Project which is funded by the Australian Government, representatives from the Australian High Commission, the Mayor of Port Vila, VIPs, Government Departments, media and UN agencies celebrated the launch with speeches, local food and prayers for the market vendors who work in the informal economy and rely on agriculture for their livelihoods.

As part of a capacity building programme the Silae Vanua Market Vendor Association hosted and catered the event, and the president, secretary, and communications officer officiated and spoke to attending guests.
