The Ministry of Education and Training is now producing primary school reading books and early education material in over 59 local languages.
As part of the launch of Literacy Week 2019, samples of these reading books and materials in vernacular languages were on display at the Chief’s Nakamal yesterday morning.
Literacy Week was officially opened by the Minister of Education and Training, Jean Pierre Nirua and New Zealand High Commissioner, Jonathan Schwass was in attendance.
There will be activities all this week at the Chief’s Nakamal to mark Literacy Week.
