Vanuatu Cricket has announced an open training sessions for women and girls at the Vanuatu Cricket Grounds, Korman, every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.

These sessions provide an exciting opportunity for aspiring and seasoned players to hone their skills and prepare for the first international competition of the year—an invitational tournament in New Caledonia, hosted by France Cricket, the Vanuatu Cricket Association (VCA) said in a statement.

VCA said that the Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu National Women’s Team will take on top-tier opponents, including France, Fiji, and Samoa, in what promises to be an exciting showcase of international cricket.

This invitational tournament, scheduled for the second week of March, not only marks the team’s first international appearance of the year but also sets the stage for what will undoubtedly be Vanuatu Cricket’s most women’s competition-focused year to date.

“We are calling on women and girls from across Vanuatu to seize this opportunity to train alongside our national players and be part of this exciting journey,” said High Performance Manager, Chris Laffan.

“These training sessions are designed to help players at all levels improve their game, build confidence, and contribute to the growth of women’s cricket in Vanuatu.”

Training sessions are open to all women and girls who are passionate about cricket or interested in trying the sport for the first time.

Whether seasoned athlete or just beginning their cricket journey, VCA welcome everyone to join the sessions and be part of this exciting chapter in Vanuatu Cricket.
