Luganville dominated the women’s category of the 2019 Vanuatu Football Federation National Youth League.

The team topped both U15 and U17 grades. They defeated Tafea 2-0 in the U15 grade and thumped Shefa 3-0 in the U17 grade.

For the boys division Tafea are the new winners in the U17 grade after defeating Luganville 2-1 and Penama are the champions in the U15 division following their 2-1 victory over Malampa.

VFF president Lambert Maltock earlier stated the competition will address player scouting and player marketing within and outside of the region.

The VFF Women’s National Team coach Robert Yalou, and Men’s National Team coach Etienne Mermer with Oceania Football Confederation Adviser to VFF Mr. Simon Richards were in Lugavnille to scout players for the next academy programme for future national teams.

Vanuatu will also participate in the 2020 Youth UEFA Promotional Tournament alongside New Caledonia and the idea is part of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in promoting and strengthening Oceania youth teams for world cup qualifications.
